Endorheic Basin

An Endorheic Basin is a closed drainage basin that retains water and allows no outflow to other external bodies of water, such as rivers and oceans, but converges instead into lakes and swamps, permanent or seasonal, that equilibrate through evaporation. The Estosha pan is a large endorheic salt pan forming part of the Kalahari basin in the north of Namibia. The Sua Pan is a large natural topographical depression within the Makgadikgadi region of Botswana.

Okavango Delta

The Okavango Delta in Botswana is a very large inland delta formed where the Okavango River reaches a tectonic trough in the central part of the endorheic basin of the Kalahari. Some of the species that live in this delta are the African Bush Elephant, African Buffalo, Hippopotamus, the lechwe and many more. The Okavango Delta is located in Africa.
